Open Question: I’m tired of my depression!?
I’m 24 and was diagnosed when I was 12, so that makes 12 years that I’ve had this and it won’t go away. I spend most days incredibly lonely and with nothing to do. I only have one real friend and she lives an hour and a half away, I’m convinced everyone else secretly finds me totally unappealing and would never want anything to do with me.
I’m on sleeping meds which I need to sleep as I’m a natural insomniac -but now that I’m on them I stay in bed until noon because I figure, what’s there to do?
I’m in school but only one class, my father opposes my schooling every step of the way. This is a huge stressor on me and I can’t make the money myself, I have a job I hate and huge debts I can’t pay already. Only my mother will pay for my schooling and even then she’s a pretty selfish person. In fact I really don’t like my family much, they want nothing to do with me. We never talk or anything. As soon as I try I get yelled at and told to shut up. I think the only thing they’re willing to listen to is the television.
I’ve been on all kinds of meds for this for the past decade, none of them really work. I’ve also seen counselors but they always get cut off because they cost money and even though my family does really well for itself, it’s not about to spend cash on a “shrink”. Besides nothing ever seems to make this go away. I just look at my life and wonder why I keep going. I see nothing positive ahead because all my dreams get shot down. I can’t begin to describe how much I hate this depression. It follows me everywhere I go like a cloud and I’m reaching the end of my rope.
I’m not trying to whine here or anything. I don’t want your pity, I’ve had enough. I just want a cure.
Resolved Question: Will it be of any help if we see some marriage counselor?
I have been married now for 1-1/2 years now. We are a very happy couple, except that my husband is not very good at handling money. I have tried to reason with him many a times that we need to mend the ways of our living. He never keeps any calculations whatsoever of the income or the expenditure. Whether he has 100/- or 10000/- in his hands, he is capable enough to spend the whole. I am really worried of this nature of him. This is a frequent topic wherein we get into arguments and he feels that I give undue importance to money. The fact is I try to make some savings out of the money that flows in, for we started our lives together in huge debt (his past mistakes!! and i was aware of them). I am trying to clear them somehow, but the problem is, though he helps in clearing off the debts, at the same time, he will create new ones. When spoken to, he says life is full of expenditure, its difficult to save. I do not know where we will be in few years from now. Please kindly help me out to find a solution to mend this. Will it be of any help if we see some marriage counselor?
